1. The service and these terms

These terms cover the OceanSheet website, documentation, and web application, including the beta application. OceanSheet is independently operated. “We” refers to its operator; “you” means the user or, where you act with authority, the organisation you represent.

Read these terms before creating an account or authorising a workflow. If you disagree, do not create an account or use the application. The Privacy Policy explains data handling; it is not a request for blanket consent. Nothing here removes rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

2. Accounts and authority

You must be at least 18, have legal capacity to agree, and provide accurate account information. If acting for an organisation, you must have authority to bind it and to connect and modify the spreadsheets involved.

Protect your login credentials and Google account and promptly report suspected compromise. You are responsible for instructions and permissions you knowingly give the service; this does not transfer responsibility for losses the law places on us.

3. Free beta and availability

OceanSheet is currently free during beta testing. Features, limits, and availability may change. The beta may contain defects, interruptions, failed/duplicate operations, or incomplete features. No uptime, support-response, or service-level commitment is included unless separately agreed in writing.

We may make reasonable changes to maintain, secure, or improve the service and may end the beta. Where practicable, we will give reasonable advance notice of a material reduction or shutdown so you can stop workflows and retain information. Urgent security/legal changes may take effect sooner.

4. Automation and your instructions

Connecting Google authorises access to selected files. A workflow instructs OceanSheet to read sources, apply your configuration, and write to the chosen destination, including on a schedule. You must have the rights and permissions needed for these operations and for any personal information involved.

Start with a copy or test tab, verify source/destination choices, inspect a manual run, and then enable a schedule. Append can repeat records; key-based updates need an appropriate unique key. Sharing changes, quotas, deleted tabs, revoked permissions, browser restrictions, and external outages can affect results.

Keep independent copies of important information and verify outputs before relying on them. OceanSheet is not a backup service or a system designed for safety-critical activities. Do not use this beta as the sole control for medical decisions, financial transfers, emergency services, or other activities where failure could cause serious harm.

Do not connect special-category personal data, criminal-record information, payment-card security data, passwords, or regulated data requiring protections not agreed with us. If your use requires a processor agreement or other special safeguards, contact us and agree them before that processing.

5. Acceptable use and ownership

Do not access data without authorisation, violate privacy/intellectual-property rights, distribute malware, harvest credentials, bypass limits, interfere with users, or breach applicable law or Google/Stripe rules. Reasonable technical limits may protect the service.

You retain rights in your spreadsheets/content. You give us only the permissions needed to process them according to your instructions and provide the service, subject to the Privacy Policy and Google data-use restrictions. Data ownership is not transferred to us.

Our software, branding, and original documentation belong to the operator or relevant licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service under these terms. Third-party licences and uses allowed by mandatory law remain unaffected. Ordinary product suggestions may be used for improvements; do not submit confidential or personal information as general feedback.

6. Contributions and future pricing

If enabled, Stripe Checkout accepts an optional, one-time contribution to support development. It does not create a subscription or buy extra access, ownership, future entitlements, or a guarantee the beta will continue. Contributions are not presented as charitable or tax-deductible donations.

Check the amount/currency before confirming. Stripe handles payment details under its own terms. Contact us promptly about accidental, duplicate, or unauthorised payments so we can investigate and assess the appropriate remedy. Statutory cancellation, refund, and payment-dispute rights remain available where applicable; they are not subject to a blanket exclusion.

Future paid plans require clear price, billing, renewal/cancellation, and consumer information before you expressly choose to purchase. Using the free beta does not authorise future charges or automatic conversion to a paid plan.

7. External services

Google, Stripe, and other external services have their own terms and availability. OceanSheet is independent of Google and is not endorsed by Google. Maintain the external accounts and permissions your workflows need. External outages/changes are outside our control, but this does not exclude responsibilities the law places on us for our own service or chosen providers.

8. Suspension, stopping, and deletion

You can disable/delete workflows, disconnect Google, and delete your account in the application. Merely stopping use does not delete your account or necessarily stop an enabled schedule. Revocation cannot reverse completed writes; an operation already in progress may finish.

Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to address security, abuse, unlawful use, material breach, or legal obligations. Where appropriate and practicable, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to resolve it before termination. Immediate action may be necessary for urgent risks or legally restricted notice.

Deletion/retention is explained in the Privacy Policy. Copies in Google remain under your control. Terms that need to continue, such as ownership, accrued payment rights, and lawful liability limits, survive termination.

9. Warranties and liability

To the extent allowed by law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available”, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, error-free output, or fitness for every purpose. We do not guarantee all defects will be corrected. This does not exclude mandatory warranties, reasonable-care duties, consumer remedies, or data-protection obligations.

Business users: to the extent allowed by law, we exclude indirect/consequential losses, including lost profits, opportunities, or revenue. Subject to the exceptions below, aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of EUR 100 and the amount you paid OceanSheet in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Consumers: that business-user exclusion and cap do not apply to you. Applicable consumer law governs responsibility and remedies, including for failures to exercise legally required care and skill.

Exceptions: no term excludes/limits liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability/remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including non-waivable data-protection rights.

10. Disputes and changes

Contact legal@oceansheet.com so we can try to resolve a problem. You retain courts, regulators, and remedies available under applicable law. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive collective remedies, or require consumers to surrender protections or courts available in their country of residence.

Material revisions will be notified in advance through the service or email where required, with the applicable effective date. Urgent legal/security changes may take effect sooner. Affirmative agreement will be obtained when required; publication alone does not authorise new charges or new uses of Google data.

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest continues to the extent the law permits. Failure to enforce is not a waiver. These terms and separately agreed service terms form the service agreement, always subject to mandatory law.
